Highway Hospice currently has 3 shops. The Hillcrest shop opened 15 years ago and we subsequently opened another shop in the Pinetown area. A group of dedicated volunteers opened a little Home Industries Shop close to the Highway Hospice in Sherwood and later moved the operation onto the premises of the Hospice. From these small beginnings the Charity Shops have grown into a thriving business, thanks to the donations from the community and business sector. All profits made by the shops go to Highway Hospice, assisting us to provide quality care to the terminally ill. The receiving depot which operates from the premises of the Pinetown shop enables us to sort the donations before being sent to the various shops to sell. Each shop has a dedicated manager and a team of volunteers who help in serving behind the counter and keep rails and shelves tidy. The receiving depot is run by a depot manager and volunteers who sort bags of clothing, bric-a-brac, books etc
