The Thatchers Association of South Africa, strives to uphold high standards of practice for the industry, members and their customers. 'A Guide to Thatch Construction in South Africa" is available in English, Zulu and Sesotho and is downloadable at no cost from the TASA website. Members sign a Code of Ethics and Conduct and are committed to uphold the SANS 10407 (Thatched Roof Construction) Specification requirements. SATAS (South African Technical Auditing Services) conduct inspections before a contractor is accepted as a member and manage also all complaints received.
