It is our mission through Hoedspruit Elephant Rehabilitation and Development to rehabilitate orphaned elephants and give them a second chance at life.

The Princess Alice Adoption Home (PeH) is a place of safety and the first loving home for many babies who have been abandoned, consented for adoption or orphaned. The babies in our care range in age from newborn to two years. All their needs are provided for until they are adopted, fostered or, as a very last resort, transferred to another child care facility. PeH also provides a safe haven for pregnant young women in crisis or who are destitute. During their stay, they receive counselling from JCW social workers and PeH provides full accommodation and ensures that they receive appropriate pre- and antenatal care and are supported throughout the birth experience.

Child Welfare Tshwane is a registered, non-profit child protection organisation that has been caring for, protecting and empowering vulnerable children.

The Therapy Unit was established in 1999, primarily as an internal resource to the organisation to render therapeutic and assessment services to all of the areas that Child Welfare Tshwane services. The services have been made available on all levels to secure developmental work and include prevention, early prevention, statutory and alternative care placements. The vision of the unit is thus also to build strong family ties and communities in order to safeguard children. The unit works in collaboration with social workers stationed at the community based offices. In this way the unit renders, apart from a specialist service, a support service to these social workers that enables them to deliver quality work to the communities.
