Is set in a 3000 ha rolling grassland. It serves as an important recreational destination for the many communities nearby. The reserve is noted for outdoor recreation; apart from angling, opportunities for camping, yachting, canoeing, birding and game viewing are also offered. Location: Boskop Dam Nature Reserve is located in the Mooi River valley 20 km north of the town of Potchefstroom, a short distance from the R501 Carltonville road and 30km from the N14 Ventersdorp / Krugersdorp road on the Rysmierbult turnoff.

This small but scenic reserve conserves attractive riverine bush and is a popular angling and hiking destination, along the tranquil river frontage environment. Wolwespruit is one of the least known of the North West parks and has retained much of the appeal of the natural riverine environment. It also conserves a variety of plains game. Wolwespruit Nature Reserve is well known for yellowfish angling in the rapids with artificial lures and flies.

Location: 11km from Ottoshoop on the Lichtenburg - Zeerust Road. The Eye and the Farm is a singular place. Its setting and abundance of attractions provide a an essential ingredient to enjoyment! The Molemane Eye is a historically significant place which includes a National Monument. The old Duncan-Rose farmhouse has been converted into a museum. Other developments include game stocking for breeding purposes with high value game species such as rhino, buffalo, sable and eland. The creation of the Reserve is considered one of the most ambitious programmes of its kind to be undertaken anywhere in the world. The crater of a long extinct volcano is the setting of Pilanesberg National Park - a fascinating alkaline complex produced by volcanic eruptions some 1300 million years ago. Pilanesberg is one of the largest volcanic complexes of its kind in the world. Its rare rock types and structure make it a unique geological feature. The area is fringed by three concentric ridges or rings of hills - the formation rises from the surrounding plains like a bubble. The structure of the park is termed the "Pilanesberg National Park Alkaline Ring Complex". Ancient, even by geological time scales, this extinct volcano is the most perfect example of an alkaline ring complex. Each chalet at Mountain Sanctuary Park sleeps 4 people comfortably. Bedding is not supplied but can be arranged with the office at an additional fee. All the chalets are self catering and come fully equipped. All chalets have their own heaters for those who feel the cold easily (two have fire-places as well) . The log cabins, which are the latest addition to the reserve, are raised on stilts to afford a breathtaking view of the valley and the lower reserve. These cabins sleep eight people comfortably and are fully equipped with everything that you could want and need, including fire-places. The only thing you might want to bring with you is your companion.
