The Lido Hotel in Johannesburg is a classic Art Deco Style Hotel that dates back as far as 1932. The design of the hotel was inspired by the Queens visit to South Africa by steam boat. The name Lido means "deck of a ship" used as a public place of recreation. The hotel is well placed in Kliprivier conservancy and Khoisan land. The historically protected building now boasts 24 rooms, each an en suite with diva baths and Indian rock tiled bathrooms walls. The Lido Hotel is a non-alcoholic venue and can host up from 50-400 guests for weddings or special functions. The banquet hall is still fitted with the original spring loaded wooden dance floor. The unique Lapa offers an upper and lower level united by an open fireplace and dance area which can accommodate up to 400 people.
