YCUP is a non-profit organization that was founded by a group of 5 women in 2007. These women are involved in community work in the area of KwaNyuswa Tribal Authority Ward 103, Botha’s Hill. The main objective of the organization is to help the poor and vulnerable members of the community. Currently the main community initiative of the organization is to setup and run a soup kitchen. 250 Beneficiaries are receiving soup and 2 loaves of bread at least twice a week. The beneficiaries are visited quarterly to assess the impact of the meals and to establish whether there are members that may benefit from the meals and support provided by soup kitchen. The recipient of the meals is mostly the sick elderly and children. We also run an Internet café which is open to everyone. We are open from 08: 00 – 16: 00 Monday – Friday. We have 0. 5 hectare piece of land where we plant the vegetable on it.
