The Academy is unique in that it was custom-designed for its purpose. There are four modern practical training rooms with state-of-the-art equipment, two theory rooms, two student common rooms, a separate commercial salon and spa facility, a laundry and kitchen facility, on-site accommodation for 12 students and administration offices. All this, set in a tranquil country setting. Every practical training room has a maximum of 10 work stations, where each student has access to all facial and body equipment, as well as various specialized electrotherapy units, for training purposes. During their second year of study, students do duty in the Academy’s Kemayu salon, where we offer a full range of salon treatments to members of the public. These procedures are carried out under strict tutor supervision. Third year students offer a full range of spa treatments in our fully-equipped spa facility, including sport massage, slimming and IPL treatments.

It is the aim of the Beauty Specialist Training Centres to educate highly qualified professionals, who excel both in theoretical knowledge and practical ability. To achieve this goal, highly qualified, university or college graduates, conduct lectures. Holders of ITEC, SeHSP or CIDESCO diplomas, carry out all practical training.

Our product “Senses” includes a range of professional nail products and equipment, that promises to improve service time, from fast setting powders to electric drills. The products are sourced from manufacturers in the USA, and purchased in bulk, to maintain competitive in a price sensitive market.

SMTBA - SMT Training Centre t / a SMT Beauty Academy is one of the largest private educational establishments in South Africa and is accredited with SERVICES SETA and ITEC international for Hairdressing, Beauty Technology, Nail Technology and Makeup Artistry and Aesthetics. SMT offers Certificate and Diploma courses in Beauty and Hair Technology. Short Skills Programmes and workshop courses are offered. Programmes are conducted from Monday to Saturdays. Part time and Full time classes are available.
