The Cape Gallery, 60 Church Street, Cape Town 8001, is housed in an 18th century heritage building situated in the colorful Church Street walking mall. Well known ceramic and graphic artists, painters, sculptors and glassblowers participate in regular exhibitions in a section of the gallery. and contribute to displays in the rest of the gallery. The South African artists we represent come from diverse cultural backgrounds, their focus is varied and at times surprising. Their skillful compositions bring a fresh view to a well remembered scene, or can enable us to observe flora and fauna closely or plumb the artist's imagination. We uphold the tradition of fine craftsmanship and respect for the artists materials. Should you wish to be notified of our ongoing exhibitions please send as your email address. The Cape Gallery is open from Mon-Friday 10 am - 4 pm and Saturday 10 am - 2 pm. There is no admission fee but we do ask you to wear a mask and use the sanitizer supplied at the door.

Goodman Gallery - Cape Town

Established in Johannesburg in 1966, the gallery works with artists who are at once contemporary, influential and strive to shift perspectives and engender social transformation. Founded during the era of apartheid, Goodman Gallery offered a non-discriminatory space when museums served the agenda of the autocratic government. Since 2008, under the directorship of Liza Essers, Goodman Gallery has expanded on this legacy, shifted its focus, and introduced numerous pivotal curatorial initiatives and partnerships. Essers has promoted a global outlook, while initiating unconventional interventions both within and outside of the traditional gallery space. This approach has dovetailed with an incisive three-tiered focus: working with southern Africa's most significant artists, both established and emerging; those from the greater African continent; and international artists wh...
