St Martins Childrens Home has been taking care of children for nearly a 100 years. Founded in 1897 by sisters from the society of St. john the divine, St. Martin's is one of the oldest Children's homes in South Africa. Children at the home are provided with a home as warm as any other, schooling and the kind of support required to build their self-esteem. St. Martin's has always existed with the intention of providing a loving and safe place for children in their times of need. There are currently over 75 children living at the home. Children come to the home for a variety of reasons. The child may have suffered abuse, neglect, have been abandoned, orphaned, or the Child's family may have simply lacked the financial stability to be able to provide for the Child's needs.
